Well, we’ve been wrapping up this last quarter’s inquiry and have been busy preparing and practicing for our key assignment. The kids have been working very hard and are excited to show you all that they’ve learned in the past few months. This week we…
Put the finishing touches on our house and added pictures of other houses that we’ve read about from all over the world.
We made fish to go in our "pond" by our house. We know that water is an important resource and that fish can be used for food.
We finished up our wants and needs book by including some-thing that we all need emotionally…love!
We brought in all sorts of items made of wood, metal, and rock. We finished writing about the properties of these three Earth materials and making posters about what we can make out of them.
We put the finishing touches on our video: "Needs and the things the Earth provides, A-Z."
We’ve been practicing our song for our kindergarten/pre-k part of the "China Day" performance.
We’ve spent this week reviewing the letter combinations we’ve learned so far and played a lot of word games where the stu-dents identified which combination they heard in the word that was spoken or shown on a picture card.
We reviewed different shapes and their attributes.
Our Next Unit
We will be starting our next unit on Mon-day. As seen in our Inquiry newsletter, we will be talking about how we share our Earth with other people, plants, and ani-mals. Please have your student choose a favorite stuffed animal to bring to school for an activity on Wednesday, January 22.
